Important Tax Dates

Please Note: New Filing Deadlines for 2017. Since April 15 falls on a Saturday, and since the following Monday is an official Washington, D.C. holiday known as Emancipation Day, taxpayers will have until Tuesday, April 18, 2017, to file their 2016 individual returns and make their first 2017 estimated tax payment. 



Individuals

 

April 18, 2017–Return/extension due

October 17–Extension expires

 

Quarterly estimated tax payments are due:

–January 16, 2017

–April 18, 2017

–June 15, 2017

–September 15, 2017

–January 15, 2018, Pay final installment of 2017 estimated tax


 

Corporations & Partnerships

 

Due Dates for S Corporations

March 15, 2017–Return/extension due

September 15, 2017–Extension expires


Due Dates for C Corporations

the new due date is the 15th day of the fourth month following the close of the corporation's year

 

Quarterly payroll tax returns are due:

–January 31, 2017

–April 30, 2017

–July 31, 2017

–October 31, 2017


 

January 31–Federal Unemployment tax

January 31–W-2s/1099s need to be sent out to employees/contractors

 

February 28 (or 29) –W-2s/1099s need to be sent to the Social Security Administration

 

*If the due date lands on a holiday or weekend the due date is the next business day.
